Abstract:
This review investigated public attitudes towards social issues and whether campaigns or other approaches are successful mechanisms for changing attitudes. The sections include "understanding attitudes and behavior," "the societal context," "audiences and messages," and "evaluating social communications programmes." The authors end with conclusions regarding best practices in campaigning and their application to asylum and immigration debate. Thirty-four references are included.
