Abstract:

This brief literature review examines the causes of forced migration in the Karamoja region of northeast Uganda, near the Sudanese and Kenyan borders.  A number of factors including conflict and livelihoods insecurity have resulted in an increased outmigration of women and children, particularly to the urban areas of eastern Uganda.  Twelve references are listed.
