Gunn, S.W.A. 1990. Multilingual Dictionary of Disaster Medicine and International Relief: English, Français, Español, [Arabic]. Dordrecht, Boston: Kluwer Academic Publishers.
Abstract:
The audience for this dictionary is the many actors from different countries, disciplines, and linguistic backgrounds who converge on disaster sites and must be able to communicate. The first section of the dictionary lists specialized English terms and provides their equivalents in French, Spanish and Arabic, as well as a definition. The three subsequent language sections list the terms alphabetically along with the English equivalent and a cross-reference back to the English definition. Units and measures and common acronyms are also included. A supplement to this dictionary was compiled by different authors in 1999 to provide additional terms relating to complex emergencies (see separate entry).
