Abstract:

People caught up in war and disaster are in need of protection as well as assistance from aid workers in the field.  This guide provides practical strategies for protection programming by humanitarian personnel.  Part one introduces the concept of protection while part two offers an "operational  framework for assessing, designing, implementing and monitoring humanitarian work with clear protection objectives" (p. 15).  The guide is also available in Spanish and Japanese.
