Bibliographic information:

Reproductive Health Response in Conflict Consortium. 2006. Gender Based Violence Bibliography.

Abstract:

Gender-based violence is predominantly aimed at women and children, and encompasses, among other things, domestic abuse, female genital mutilation, traditional practices that are harmful to women, human trafficking, forced prostitution, and sexual violence.  Such violence often occurs during conflict situations and humanitarian emergencies.  This bibliography highlights research literature, training materials, and manuals to assist staff working with refugees and internally displaced persons.  Annotated references are organized by title under the following sections: prevention, protection, direct services, assessment, monitoring and evaluation, sustainability, background/context, and further information.  A search engine is provided.
