The purpose of this bibliography was to determine what research had already been undertaken on issues relating to gender and humanitarian assistance.  References were identified through database searches.  The results are organized under the following general headings: disasters/epidemics; civil strife and conflict; refugees and displaced persons; emergency relief; disaster mitigation/disaster contingency planning; and relief and development.  Most include index terms and/or an abstract.
