Bibliographic information:

Pearson, Elaine. 2000. Human Rights and Trafficking in Persons: A Handbook. Bangkok: Global Alliance Against Traffic in Women.

Abstract:

The purpose of this handbook is to provide non-governmental organizations and advocates with guidance on how to more effectively assist trafficked persons and combat trafficking.  The first chapter introduces the concepts of "human rights" and "trafficking." Chapter 2 delves more deeply into the factors that give rise to trafficking, the consequences of trafficking, and recommended human rights standards for assisting trafficked persons.  The two concluding chapters focus on strategies and approaches for dealing with trafficking.  The appendices in the online version of this handbook are incomplete. A Russian version is also available online; Spanish and Polish versions can be requested (see publisher web site for more information).
