Abstract:
This chapter reviews research that has been conducted on the region as a whole, and highlights predominant trends. It then considers the root causes for human trafficking in sub-Saharan Africa. It briefly discusses the primary methodologies employed in the studies reviewed, then looks at regional approaches to research. The review ends with an evaluation of the research conducted to date and provides recommendations for future areas of focus. Twenty-eight references are listed.
