Abstract:

This study is divided into two parts.  The literature review is presented in part one.  Its aim is to examine the impact of conflict on women's roles and on gender relationships.  The first two chapters set the policy context for this area of study and elaborate on the concept of gender analysis.  The next chapter identifies seven roles of women before, during and after armed conflict; addressing these roles has certain implications for organizational policy and practice, as discussed in chapter five.  A brief explanation of the authors' methodology for the literature review is provided.  Over 60 references are listed.
