Abstract:

This chapter builds on an earlier review of research undertaken by the author (see separate entry). She begins with a discussion of the limitations of research methods that have been used in the studies under review.  It moves next to an evaluation of the existing knowledge base, a review of trends, and a survey of research on other patterns of trafficking such as domestic service and labor exploitation.  The review ends with an overview of the research conducted to date and provides recommendations.  Eighty-five references are listed.
