Abstract:

This report replaces the IDMC's two former annual publications, the Global Overview on Internal Displacement [see separate entry] and the Global Estimates: People Displaced by Disasters report [see separate entry]. In the interest of presenting a more holistic view, GRID surveys internal displacement situations regardless of their cause. Part 1 looks at displacement associated with conflict, violence and disasters, while part 2 discusses IDMC's data model for measuring this type of displacement. Part 3 examines displacement produced as a result of criminal and gang violence, drought and development projects.
