Abstract:

This document reproduces papers presented at a two-day meeting held in Cairo in January 2008 to "assess the current state of trafficking research, identify current knowledge gaps, share innovative research and data collection methods and highlight the importance of evaluation and assessment of counter trafficking programmes."  The introduction summarizes the existing knowledge gaps in trafficking research identified by meeting participants. The report continues with 10 papers from the meeting: four address "conceptual and data issues," while the remaining six present overviews of the status of research on trafficking in specific regions.
