Abstract:

 

This thesis introduces the concept of "conservation refugees" and presents a picture of their global distribution through an analysis of the relevant literature.  It also examines the international law and policy applicable to the protection of those displaced by the creation of protected areas.  A total of 170 articles were reviewed for this study.
