Abstract:

The authors of this review set out to identify "the effects of premigration violence and trauma on the health status and socioacademic adaptation of Southeast Asian refugee children."  Through a series of systematic computer searches, the authors located 12 studies that met their criteria for inclusion in the review.  They examined the studies' research instruments, sampling procedures, and statistical methods, and identified independent and dependent variables.  Recommendations for future research are presented.
