Freedom in the World [year]. Washington, DC: Freedom House, 1978-. Annual.
Abstract:
This annual publication measures the political rights and civil liberties of over 190 countries in order to assess the state of world freedom. Each country is assigned a rating of 1 to 7 (most to least free) for each type of freedom to establish overall rankings and for comparative purposes. The treatment of asylum-seekers and the protection of refugees are among the many categories of human rights considered by the survey. A map of freedom is also included (the web version is interactive). The complete texts of this report are available on the Freedom House web site as of 2002.
