Abstract:

This report summarizes the discussions that took place during the 11th meeting of the International Association for the Study of Forced Migration (IASFM), held in Cairo in January 2008.  The rapporteur reviews the many issues addressed in conference papers, the expansion of the field of forced migration studies, methodological approaches, and the interplay between policy and research.  Podcasts of the oral presentation of this report and of other sessions are available through Forced Migration Online (FMO).  The rapporteur also prepared a video montage of quotes and comments from conference speakers.
