Abstract:

Presented in two volumes, this sourcebook provides guidance for developing and implementing a successful resettlement plan in order to ensure that the lives of people displaced by economic development projects are not adversely impacted.  Chapters cover World Bank policy, definitions, resettlement procedures, lessons learned, and strategies for resettlement in certain sectors.  The appendices make available sample planning documents and other information sources.  A glossary provides further clarification of terminology.  Volume 2 reproduces 33 additional documents and tools deemed useful for resettlement practitioners to have for reference purposes.
