Abstract:
Limited research has been undertaken that focuses on the interrelationships between disasters and human trafficking. This review describes the available literature on women and emergencies generally, and more specifically, the trafficking that occurred after the 2004 tsunami. The annotated bibliography in Annex A is organized by "general literature on gender and disasters," "tsunami literature," and "literature on displacement." Twenty-five references are included. Annex B lists relevant organizations.
