Abstract:

This title is one in a series of books that review the current state of knowledge in key areas of public health practices during complex emergencies.  Its focus is the "epidemiology of malaria and public health interventions and practices for controlling the disease in situations involving forced migration and conflict" (p. ix).  Malaria is often a leading cause of death among displaced populations.  Thus, the aim of this monograph is to provide humanitarian workers with a review of the most effective interventions in order to facilitate decision-making as well as the implementation of malaria control programming.  Over 275 references are included.
