Abstract:

 

Designed for parliamentarians, this handbook introduces the problem of statelessness and discusses strategies for protecting and assisting stateless persons.  The information is presented in a question and answer format.  Several annexes lists states parties to the two relevant statelessness conventions, reproduce model instruments of accession, and provide addresses for UNHCR offices.  The first edition (2005) is available in a number of languages, all of which can be accessed via the link to the English text below.  The second edition (2014) is available in English, French, Albanian, Portuguese, Russian, Serbian and Spanish; these also can be accessed via the relevant link below.
