Abstract:

A state of the art review of the social science literature relating to refugees from Southeast Asia.  The authors begin with a discussion of refugee definitions, then move on to an examination of the refugee experience beginning with root causes and ending with adapation and integration.   Over 80 references are listed.  Based on a paper presented at the 4th International Association for the Study of Forced Migration conference in 1994, entitled "Refugees from Southeast Asia: A Review Essay."
