Abstract:

 

This fourth edition of an atlas originally published in 1983 documents the changing face of war.  The first three chapters look generally at the causes of war, the military, and the effects of war on people.  The subsequent five chapters examine conflicts on a regional basis.  The final chapter focuses on peacebuilding.  Other language editions are available in French (Autrement, 2003), German (Fischer Taschenbuch Verlag, 1997) and Spanish (Ediciones Akal, 1999).
