Abstract:

This review begins by summarizing studies that identify specific mental health problems experienced by refugee children and youth.  The authors continue with a discussion of risk and protective factors, assessment methods, intervention approaches, treatments for post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and issues to consider when working with young refugees.  The authors do not indicate how their studies were selected.  Over 100 references are included.
