Bibliographic information:

Zerriffi, Maren. 1999. Refugee Compensation: Selected Cases and Source Materials. Compensation as Part of a Comprehensive Solution to the Palestinian Refugee Problem, Ottawa, 14-15 July 1999.

Abstract:

This bibliography is presented in two parts. The first analyzes cases involving compensation and property restitution that might be relevant for the Palestinian situation.  The second part highlights materials relating to these issues.  The references are organized as follows: Compensation and Restitution in Cases of Population Transfer, Mass Expulsion, and both Intra-State and Inter-State Conflict; Compensation and Restitution in Cases of Expropriation and Nationalization; War Claims, Reparations and Post-War Restitution; and Mechanisms.  Many are annotated but not all.  The paper was prepared for a workshop on "Compensation as Part of a Comprehensive Solution to the Palestinian Refugee Problem," held in 1999.
