Bibliographic information:

International Bureau of Education. 1991. "Refugee Education." Bulletin of the International Bureau of Education, no. 261:3-78.

Abstract:

Numerous programs and activities have been undertaken in order to extend learning and educational opportunities to both refugee children and adults.  This bi-lingual bibliography aims to capture "the experience gained, the problems encountered, the mistakes made and the successes achieved...to help those working on similar issues in other settings" (p. 3).  To this end, specialized libraries and databases were searched for relevant titles, as well as for more general information relating to adaptation, health and policy.  The 413 English, French and German references are organized under the following headings: general; policy and legal aspects; social and cultural adjustment for refugees; psychological problems; health problems and programmes; educational programmes; language problems and programmes; employment-oriented programmes; and bibliographies and reference materials.  Many entries are annotated, but not all.  An author/editor index is included.
