Abstract:

 

This article introduces the theme of this issue of Refugee Survey Quarterly by providing a "state-of-the-art review" of literature relating to refugee livelihoods.  The author begins with an introduction to the concept of livelihoods.  The subsequent discussion considers "continuity in livelihood strategies," "obstacles faced in exile," and "transformations of livelihood strategies." Fifty-five references are listed.
