Gray, Alison, and Susan Elliott. 2001. Refugee Resettlement Research Project ‘Refugee Voices’: Literature Review. Wellington: New Zealand Immigration Service.

Abstract:

This literature review was undertaken during the first phase of the Refugee Resettlement Research Project.  The aim of the review was to provide a better understanding of the refugee resettlement process.  Contents include definitions of refugee resettlement, the needs of refugees and asylum seekers (including specific groups), barriers to resettlement, strategies to meet refugee needs, and measuring resettlement.  While the review focused on New Zealand studies published between 1980 and the present (2001), resources from Australia, North America, and Europe were also examined for complementary purposes.  The authors describe their methodology for locating relevant literature references, although they do not indicate specific keywords.  Some 170 references are listed.
