Abstract:

This report reviews international literature relating to the resettlement policies of countries in the European Union and the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), including Australia, Canada, Denmark, Finland, Ireland, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Sweden, the United Kingdom and the United States.  Divided in two parts, the review first summarizes policies and practices across countries (e.g., legal definitions, categories, models, roles, funding and evaluation approaches).  Part two reviews policies and practices on a country-by-country basis.  Some 90 references are listed.  The study is provided both as a series of web pages and as a PDF document.
