Abstract:

Appendix one of a larger study to examine the experience of refugees resettled in Alberta, Canada.  Literature from 1980-1998 that focuses on the settlement and integration of refugees in Canada was retrieved for this review.  The discussion is organized around six themes that emerged from the literature:  physical and mental health; economic integration; education and language issues; social and community integration; service providers and service utilization; and research and policy linkages.  The authors' search methodology is not provided.  The references are described in a separate annotated bibliography that accompanies the review.  Over 400 journal articles, books, papers, book chapters, government documents, and other reports are listed.  The references are organized by resource type, then alphabetically by author.  Most entries include abstracts.
