The mental health of refugee women is the focus of this bibliography. Two opposing psychological viewpoints have developed in the literature regarding the impact of forced migration on refugees. One sees forced migration as a traumatic experience, producing victims who must undergo psychological treatment. The other argues that while suffering is experienced, the reactions to forced migration are normal responses, and the suffering of refugees should not be "medicalized" as a result. The authors selected journal articles through PubMed and Medline searches; a few books are also represented. The 85 annotated entries are organized by author, with just under half dating equally from the 1990s and the 2000s, and the remainder from the 1980s.
