Abstract:

This review looks at definitions of trafficking, the current theoretical framework for trafficking research, the role of organized crime, international conventions and Canadian legislation combating trafficking, and possible solutions.  The review concludes that the existing knowledge base of research is limited and proposes areas to focus on.  The materials examined were primarily academic books, journal articles, and organization reports.  Approximately 80 references are listed.
