Abstract:

This atlas is divided into four parts.  Part 1 presents an historical overview of migration through the ages.  Part 2 looks at contemporary global migration patterns.  Part 3 examines the diversity of today's migrants.  It includes two-page spreads with full-color maps and charts on refugees, refugee warehousing, refugee return, seeking asylum in Europe, internally displaced persons, climate change, and irregular migration.  The final part highlights data and sources.  Outside of North America, the book goes by the title The Atlas of Human Migration: Global Patterns of People on the Move and is published by Earthscan.
